Work Overview

The work consists of three movements that each use themes/fragments from J S Bach works phased in a mesmeric minimalist manner. Different approaches to the phasing are used so a range of different and intriguing textures are created. Instrumentation is fairly open.

Instrumentation: 4 instruments.Open instrumentation, fairly free choice: Instruments 1-2 use treble clef (2 octave range (C-C); instrument 3 treble clef 2.5 octave range G-C; instrument 4 bass clef; instruments 2,3 & 4 need to be able to sustain a long note.

Duration: 8 min.

Difficulty: Advanced
