Work Overview
This piece explores the sonic potentinal of the low drum, with the high overtones of the edge and dull thud of the centre complementing the resoance of the normal playing spot. Each sound or phrase has an existential presence, in a timed relationship with the other notes while unencumbered by limitations of a time signature and barlines. Beaters should be choasen that can best enunciate the notated sounds. Different note shapes are used to clearly indicate playing spots. Dynamics are at the discretion of the player.
