Composer and writer Dr Rósa Lind Page creates music that moves seamlessly between acoustic and electronic realms, mapping poetic dramaturgical interconnections across sound, image, astronomy, physiology and text. 


Rósa Lind studied composition at Sydney Conservatorium of Music with further studies in North America, graduating with a B.A. (Mus) Summa cum laude from the University of Delaware, USA. Upon returning to Australia, Rósalind undertook a Master of Arts (Theatre and Film Studies) at UNSW, researching sound and image relationships in the films of Andrei Tarkovsky and Wim Wenders. In 2006, she completed her PhD in Composition with Ross Edwards at the University of Sydney, where prior to her composing career, she graduated with a BVSc in Veterinary Science.

In 2006, Rósa Lind's acclaimed song cycle Sonetos del Amor Oscuro (2004), setting texts in Spanish by Federico García Lorca, was awarded the Paul Lowin Song Cycle Prize. Her cello concerto FRACTURE (2004) - an interpretation of Shakespeare's King Lear and Akira Kurosawa's RAN, received a Highly Commended Award in the 2004 Paul Lowin Orchestral Prize.


Merging her aesthetic of interconnectedness, Rósa Lind's solo and chamber works are expressed in large scale forms across expansive series:

In 2014 Rósa Lind received a prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Music Fellowship to create new international works and in 2017, her three song cycles, Apollinairesongs, Hrafnsöngvar and Sonetos del Amor Oscuro, were included as Required Contemporary Repertoire in the prestigious 10th International Hilde Zadek Vocal Competition, during which Rósalind attended Grand Final performances at the Musikverein, Vienna.

International residences include Visby International Composers' Centre (VICC, Sweden), CAMAC, Marnay-sur-Seine, (France), Herhusið (Iceland), Leighton Artists' Colony, Banff Centre (Canada) and Imogen Holt's Residency through the Britten-Pears Foundation (UK).


HORIZON (2018), with texts in Latin, Latvian and English, premiered at Riga's National Museum of Art, was honoured by inclusion in the ISCM Official Australian Selection and performed by the renowned Latvian Radio Choir at ISCM World Music Days 2019 Tallinn.

Upcoming recordings 2022 include String Quartets 1, 2 & 3 with Kreutzer Quartet (UK) and Kunstwerke - Kandinsky & Astronomy - 'Trente' with pianist Mark Knoop (UK).
