Phil Treloar is concerned with understanding the pupose of music as it applies to various cultures and in order to pursue this path with integrity, studied with master musicians in Sydney, New York, Columbo and New Delhi. In 1988, he formed the contemporary project Feeling to Thought, and since then, has also been involved as performer and composer with Pipeline. His works are performed both in Australia and overseas, and a recent work for solo percussion, (... and then) SUNRISE, written for Tom O'Kelly, has been released on CD in Japan.
Treloar is now resident in Japan, where he is active as a composer and initiator of new concert intiatives.
