Event Details
ACO2 connects the next generation of talented young Australian musicians with the stars of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, creating a combined ensemble with a fresh, energetic performance style.
In this concert, ACO2 performs some of the best music for string orchestra from the Baroque, Romantic and contemporary eras. Bach’s sprightly Brandenburg Concerto No.3 is one of the most popular pieces in classical music. Handel’s Concerto Grosso is in the grand Baroque style. Dvořák’s Serenade, full of flowing melodies and wistful waltzes, is a delight. Meale’s Cantilena pacifica features a long, lyrical line for solo violin. Rising young British composer Tarik O’Regan has already received two Grammy nominations.
Featured non-Australian music: Handel, O'Regan, Bach, Dvorak
