Event Details
From Hindemith to Messiaen, Taverner to Twist, Schultz to Sabin, Collusion has been performing an eclectic mix of art music for audiences throughout Queensland and New South Wales since 2002. It is 10 years in 2012 since founding members Benjamin Greaves (violin/viola) and Danielle Bentley (cello/festival director) formed Collusion. Along with Brieley Cutting (piano) and Diana Tolmie (clarinet/saxophone) Collusion is a powerhouse of experienced, specialised chamber musicians with vast experience and repertoire.
In 2012 the ensemble introduces Gareth Belling as resident choreographer. In 2012 our performance repertoire reflects the program pages of our soon to be released (May 2012), much anticipated Double CD Flashpoint. Masterworks by Messiaen and Hindemith immerse CD 1 while music composed by Australian composers monopolise CD 2. Works especially written for Collusion by composers Robert Davidson, Joseph Twist, Andrew Ball, Thomas Green, and Susan Hawkins accompany works by Nigel Sabin, and Andrew McNaughton.
COLLUSION MUSIC: Benjamin Greaves - violin/viola, Diana Tolmie - clarinet/saxophone, Danielle Bentley - cello, Brieley Cutting - piano, Susan Hawkins - sound artist
