Event Details
Where is the edge…? Wander the outer fringes, in an evening with artists welcoming the weird and exploring the limits of their practice. Violinist Flora Wong launches her debut EP ‘Geburtstag’, a collection of works for violin commissioned in celebration of her violin’s tenth birthday, ranging from a mesmerising duet for violin and mechanical metronome to a loop-based tribute to Meanjin’s climate activists. Joining us from Ngunnawal Country, Shoeb Ahmad interrogates meditation and dissonance through improvisation, punk, sound art, and minimalist electronic practices, in a set bringing together electric guitar noise, field recordings, analog synths, voice and pedals. To round off the night, MJ O’Neill brings the underground dance vibes with a set showcasing her earliest influences – rave music from the early 1990s.
