Hear Australia’s most talented young musicians in two exciting concerts by Gondwana Choirs, including the acclaimed Gondwana Voices, on Saturday 23 January at Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Macquarie Street.
See why Gondwana choristers are internationally renowned for their dynamic and engaging performances in these concerts featuring music from Australia and around the globe! In 2010 the choirs will collaborate with one of Australia’s finest and most versatile ensembles Synergy Percussion to give the world premiere of two newly commissioned works by Australian composers Christopher Gordon and Graeme Leak.
Gondwana National Choral School brings together approximately 200 of Australia’s most talented young musicians for a two week intensive season of rehearsals, workshops and performances. The choristers form into four choirs, Gondwana Chorale, Gondwana Voices, Junior Gondwana and Gondwana Singers to work under the direction of Australia’s finest choral conductors and music educators including Artistic Director and Founder Lyn Williams OAM, Mark O’Leary, Paul Holley, Claire Preston, Julie Christiansen OAM, Allison Harrigan, Harley Mead and International Guest Conductor Karen Grylls ONZM.
23 January 3pm: this concert will feature Junior Gondwana, Gondwana Singers and combined choirs with the Gondwana Chamber Orchestra and Synergy Percussion.
23 January 6pm: this concert will feature Gondwana Voices, Gondwana Chorale and combined choirs with Synergy Percussion.
