Event Details
KAMMER Ensemble explore the 20th-century quintet repertoire, culminating with one of the most influential works of chamber music ever written - Schoenberg’s Op.9 the Kammersinfonie. They investigate how composers from different continents and musical heritages have responded to this work from Zhou Long in China, Jacques Casterede in France and Christopher Gordon in Australia. The concert begins with a salute to Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, who turns 75 this year.
Featured non-Australian music: Maxwell Davies, Zhou Long, Jacques Casterede, Schoenberg
