AMC Associate artist Alice Chance was in Year 12 when the Marais Project gave the world premiere of her piece for two solo viola da gambas, O" which has since had almost 1600 views on You Tube! Alice has now been commissioned to write a new work for this important concert celebrating Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) who was both a master-composer and an influential music theoretician.
2014 is the 250th anniversary of Rameau’s death. We present a selection of his works including his famous Pièces de clavecin en concerts for harpsichord, violin and viola da gamba, two cantatas and a new piece for viola da gamba by Alice Chance.
