This ELISION programme includes texts and readings by the Chinese poet Yang Lian, the brilliant Australian vocalist Deborah Kayser and a major work by Liza Lim entitled The Quickening. This piece for qin and voice was commissioned by the Festival d'Automne of Paris and together with the cello solo Spirit Weapons explores notions of geomancy, Chinese calligraphy and the afterlife.
