Event Details

Sydney Conservatorium of Music officially opens their 2016 concert season with their Annual Chancellor's Concert, showcasing the SCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Eduardo Diazmuñoz. This special event will feature the world premiere performance of Con alumna Elena Kats-Chernin's Macquarie's Castle: Saxophone Concerto, to be performed by Dr Michael Duke, the Con's Senior Lecturer in Saxophone. This work was commissioned by the Con through a generous donation from Mr Kim Williams AM to celebrate our 100th anniversary. The SCM Orchestra will also be performing Professor Matthew Hindson's Marathon and Bruckner's Symphony No. 4.

Featured non-Australian music: Anton Bruckner - Symphony No. 4
