Sydney Conservatorium of Music launches their 2017 concert season with the Chancellor’s Concert, a magnificent program that pays homage to some outstanding women, hosted by University of Sydney Chancellor, Belinda Hutchinson AM. Hear new music by Conservatorium Professor Anne Boyd AM - the world premiere of Olive Pink’s Garden for solo alto flute, marimba, harp and symphony orchestra.
Outstanding talented student, Breanna Moore, will perform Gordon Jacob’s Flute Concerto No. 1. Breanna was the winner of the 2016 SCM Woodwind Concerto Competition. Finally, we honour Mother Earth, through the work that changed Western music at the beginning of the last century: Igor Stravinsky’s masterpiece, The Rite of Spring.
