At the end of August and after 16 great years, Stephen Leek, our award winning Artistic Director and Conductor is finishing his time with us. Leek's last event with The Australian Voices will be in Brisbane on Thursday 27 August at the Queensland Conservatorium.
For this concert we have also invited the enigmatic conductor and educator Anne Williams and her wonderful young choir – the Eltham East Primary School Choir – with whom Stephen has worked in Melbourne over the past 13 years, to join us in the celebrations. This young choir from an ordinary school in Victoria, like The Australian Voices, has a very long and strong commitment to new Australian choral music and a record of extraordinary achievement and excellence. They are really worth hearing and supporting.
