Event Details
For Bach lovers this program features Johann Sebastian’s small forms aplenty – a continuo sonata for recorder, an intriguing arrangement of his 14 canons from the Goldberg aria’s ground bass, the poignant Prelude and Fugue in C sharp minor from book I of the Well-tempered Clavier, and an exultant Sonata for Recorder and obbligato Cembalo. As usual, new Australian works are presented. Elena Kats-Chernin contributes a bitter-sweet ‘remembrance’. The third piece in Katia Tiutiunnik’s Illumunida, our commissioned work from 2022, now completes the trilogy. This fantastic work ranges from despair to joy to ecstasy.
Featured non-Australian music: Music by JS Bach, CP Bach and Teleman
