Spin the top, roll the dice, pick a card, you know you want to. Open the music box for an afternoon of games and game-inspired pieces. Curated by Naomi Johnson.

Make your way up the stairs at The Glebe Hotel and join the music box project for an afternoon of music outside the usual order of things. Sit back in a green (or red) velvet lounge, listen to curious, ear-exciting, living music made now and feel the warmth of live sound you’ve missed experiencing with others.

All ticket sales from Upstairs @ The Glebe goes to artists. Your support enables us to make more music! In order to have some certainty in these times and to help bring some curious new music to our friends outside sydney, we will be hosting an online watch party space called Upstairs Offsite. Your ticket includes music, a zine and access to Upstairs Offsite. If you just want access to the online space, there is an online only ticket option. If the live show can’t go ahead, your live ticket will still give you access to the online space. We really appreciate your support in these strange times.

the music box project acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land this event will take place on, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and their elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded - this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Accessibility: Unfortunately, the venue is up a flight of stairs. Please message if you have any specific questions about accessing the venue!

What is Upstairs Offsite and how will it work?

We will be filming our Upstairs gigs this year and sharing them with you in our online space Upstairs Offsite. If we have to cancel the live show because of covid, then we will still film the show to share with you. We will also use it as a space to share our notes about the gig and will have a little chat running (we’d love you to say hi!).

Upstairs Offsite will come online after the scheduled live show time (it's not a live stream and we need a little time to get the video up!). You will receive an email with a password to the space when it comes online.
