You’re invited to a celebratory recital, filled with expressive original music, as well as vibrant takes on classic tunes, performed by James Sewell.
Drawing from experience playing everything from big band jazz to hip hop, James’ music blends complex harmony with personal expression, and stretches the definition of what jazz can be. James’ musical journey has carried him across the country, and along the way he’s had the opportunity to perform with an array of internationally-renowned artists, including Guillermo Klein, Megan Washington and Rai Thistlethwayte.
The culmination of four years of tertiary study in WAAPA’s Bachelor of Jazz Performance, this promises to be a fun evening of fantastic music.
Joining him on stage will be:
Austin Salisbury – piano
Elliot Frost – guitar
Kane Shaw – bass
Quinn Wells – drums
Matt Smith – trumpet
And a few special guests…
