Melbourne Recital Centre celebrates its first Easter with a week-long festival, Walk to the Field of Stars — A Musical Pilgrimage, from Sunday, April 5 to Sunday, April 12, coinciding with Jewish Passover and Christian Holy Week. Each concert will be accompanied by projections created by Dr Allan Chawner, associate professor and senior lecturer in photo media at the School of Drama, Fine Art and Music, University of Newcastle.
Passion is Paul Grabowsky and the Australian Art Orchestra’s adaptation of Bach’s St Matthew Passion. Passion comprises five major works by Paul Grabowsky, Doug de Vries, Alister Spence, Niko Schäuble and John Rodgers, capturing the triumph of the human spirit within the drama and language of contemporary music.
