SIMA presents the Jazz:NOW Summer Festival featuring; Zela Margossian Quintet 'The Road' Album Launch + Stu Hunter

"Transitioning among seemingly impossible musical and rhythmic puzzles and into an effortless harmonious whole"- Downbeat Magazine

Zela Margossian’s ARIA nominated Quintet is the ethno-jazz band taking Australia by storm. She made international headlines with her signing to US label ‘Ropadope Records’.

Her astonishing songs meld Armenian folk, classical and jazz music, into rich textures, tumbling polyrhythms and soothing melodies. The quintet’s live performances are charged with an energetic drive, traveling through emotions of both resilience and fragility.

Don’t miss the launch of her next album “The Road”, as she unveils her next musical statement, alongside a supporting solo piano performance from Stu Hunter.

Stu present his stunning lyricism and melodic beauty by playing tunes from his latest release ‘The Beautiful Things’, his back-catalogue and new compositions.
