Event Details
The beauty of melody in Australian art song. Composers have always shown interest in writing for the human voice and for the intimacy of song. In this program acclaimed art song exponents Michael Lampard (baritone) and Rhodri Clarke (piano) take on works by leading, living Australian composers. Michael Lampard and Rhodri Clarke first performed together in 2011, and formed the Zenith ensemble in 2012 with a focus on song repertoire from the 19th to the 21st centuries. This intimate performance includes selections from Graeme Koehne, Matthew Dewey, Richard Mills, Andrew Ford and Calvin Bowman and showcases the depth of Australian art song and the beauty of melody created in this country. Part of the Melbourne Recital Centre's Spotlight Series
