Product details
Blackholes and Modulations is Ephemera's second album. Ephemera is a musical exploration of celestial landscapes, such as pulsars, craters, planetary atmospheres, stars, sun and void. Merging the sound worlds of jazz and contemporary classical, and set to real space sounds, it is a unique sonic experience. The ensemble is lead by Keyna Wilkins (piano/flute/compositions) with Elsen Price (double bass), Carl St Jacques (viola) and Will Gilbert (trumpet) and includes freely improvised pieces. Open source NASA recordings and audio from space missions from the backdrop soundtrack and has been compiled by astronomer Dr Paul Francis. Each member brings their own unique voice to the group drawing from a multitude of musical backgrounds who combine to create a distinctive sound world that organically reacts to stellar concepts. Universe and Universality. www.ephemeraensemble.com
