|
Product details
An album which substantially represents West Australia's musical heritage in grand form!
Originally recorded in 2006, this album was made possible through sheer determination and through the support of The Organ Historical Trust of Australia and the Christopher Dearnley Award. This monumental release by West Australian organist Jangoo Chapkhana, showcases the extraordinary custom qualities of this one-of-a-kind mammoth instrument. Installed between 1973 - 1977, the organ was designed specifically for the Concert Hall by legendary Organ Designer and Builder, Ronald Sharp. Its visual artistry matches that of the Brutalist architecture of the Concert Hall whilst containing over 3,000 pipes and capacity to use them.
The program includes a wide variety of works by Buxtehude, Sweelinck, Bach, Messaen and others. There is also 10 minute Variation on Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring composed by the organist.
