Product details

Please Note - a CD of the accompanying audio samples is required for performance of this work. This is available from the AMC.

The piece uses electronic "instruments" which I constructed from recordings of galahs. This includes short segments of galah song which have been "looped" to produce sustained notes. These are played on a MIDI keyboard which controls audio software. These "instruments" are tuned to a 24 note/octave just intonation scale of my own invention. The samples used by the software are available as .wav files which can be obtained from the AMC. A separate sample is provided for each note, so that each note is correctly tuned. This means the piece can be played using any available audio software.

Published by: Australian Music Centre — 1 facsimile score (11p. -- A4 (landscape))

Difficulty: Advanced — Professional.

Duration: 6 min.

First performance by Rob Williams, Ron Nagorcka — 23 Aug 97. Darebin Town Hall, Darebin, Victoria

Includes notation and performance notes.

In order to know what this piece sounds like, it is necessary to listen to a recording, as it is written in a 24 tone/octave scale and the score does not make harmonic sense if read normally in equal temperament

The sounds produced by the sampler are all derived using sampling techniques from recordings of galahs.

Typeset edition.
