Product details
Over the years, Margaret as composer/pianist has performed as a soloist or with many ensembles playing many styles of music from Classical to Jazz and Latin-American music. She has always loved the Latin-American rhythms and sought to explore this genre with her delicate melody superimposed over the Rhumba rhythm established in the piano part. The viola version of this piece is in the key of G minor.
This work is one of Margaret Brandman's most sought-after works for string players. Originally commissioned by Duo Deconet, as a work for violin with piano, it has since been adapted for solo cello, solo viola, and a variety of string ensembles. The violin version is included in the AMEB Series 10 syllabus. The solo cello version has been recorded by cellist Ariel Volovelsky, together with the composer on piano and released on the ModernClassicalX label.
