Product details
Somewhere Near 1770 was inspired by and chronicles Joseph Banks' time on the Endeavour during its historic trip to Australia in 1770. Banks was born into wealth and used his influence to become the botanist on the Endeavour despite being only 25 years old at the time. "My grand tour shall be one around the whole globe" he once remarked. His observations are intriguing (if seeming somewhat naïve in the 21st century) and it was in reading his journals and visiting both Cape Tribulation and the Town of 1770 that this piece of music was born.
