Sheet Music: Score & Part(s)Suite modale : for flute, clarinet and bassoon / Tony Wheelerby Tony Wheeler (2011)
|
Product details
This suite of three movements employs several traditional musical forms, and as the title suggests, the melodic and harmonic material is primarily derived from modes. the form of the first movement takes inspiration from the classical minuet and trio, but the minuet has been replaced by another dance in triple time, the Sarabande. The second movement is a miniature Fuga. The Recitative forms an expressive introduction to the lively, concluding Bagatelle.
The melodies exploit the eloquence and agility of the flute and clarinet, and the bassoon also receives its fair share of the limelight with numberous lyrical passages.
