Work Overview
'Catch me if you can' is
the fourth song in the song cycle of contemporary
classical art songs 'Songs of Love and Desire' for Mezzo
Soprano voice and piano, composed by Margaret Brandman to the
passionate lyrics of Désirée Regina.
This is the most up-tempo and rhythmic song in the cycle.
The light and breezy mood captures the elation of the lovers. The
major key opening stanza in which the piano accompanies the
voice, is contrasted in the middle section when the voice sings
an obligato line accompanying the piano solo.
