Work Overview

This work originated as a piano solo composition expressing the moods and themes of one of Bob Brown's poems (of the same title) he wrote in the 1970s while living at his old farm house "Oura Oura" in the Liffey Valley, Tasmania. The poem expresses Bob's delight and surprise being woken by the silence of snow falling, after having gone to bed during a storm. The music aims to express those various experiences, with the orchestral arrangement providing great depth and broader emotional potency.
