Work Overview
This piece was commissioned and premiered by Will Hansen to celebrate his new double bass "Kashtan" created by luthier Matthew Tucker (Bresque Basses). Inspired by a workshop with Will, the piece's material is derived from fragments of Bach's 'Cello Suite No. 2' and the mechanical rhythms of automatons.
