Work Overview
This festal setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis was commissioned by the Bowral Autumn Music Festival, in regional NSW. It was premiered by the Chamber Choir of the Church of St Simon & St Jude in Bowral at the concluding Festal Evensong of the 2023 Autumn Music Festival.
Organ registrations are given in the accompaniment, but should be used as a guide to the mood and style of the music. Each organist will vary these to suit their instrument. The segments for solo trumpet or tuba stop could, for example, be played on the Great if no solo reed is available.
