Work Overview
Commissioned by the Chamber Choir of the Church of St Simon & St Jude in Bowral, in regional NSW; the St Simon Service was named for their church. The various movements allow for the setting to be sung at Communion for various seasons of the church year.
Organ registrations are given in the accompaniment, but should be used as a guide to the mood and style of the music. Each organist will vary these to suit their instrument.
Choral parts avoid extremes of range, and the work is approachable for a four-part parish choir.
