Score
Lasciare, vibrare : trio for two players / Jack Symonds.
Library shelf no. 785.5812/SYM 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
A trio for two players; an etude in resonance.
Percussionists and harpists often read 'l.v' in their scores as composers often request these instruments to 'let vibrate' for as long as possible.
I wanted to tease out the intersections of 'coloured vibration' between aluphone, marimba and harp in an 8-part interlocking sequence of Toccatas and Nocturnes which are themselves resonant reflections of each other:
Prelude (contracting chaconne) - Toccata I - Nocturne I - Toccata II - Nocturne II - Responsory - Nocturne III - Toccata III.
