'Elysium' is the first piece in Charody's set of songs inspired by the poetry of Charles Baudeliare. Composed in 2007, 'Elyisum' was placed in Charody's circus opera 'The Carnival', however she later withdrew the work for the opera.
Instrumentation: Soprano, violin, piano.

Libretto inspired by the poem 'The death of the poor' by Charles Baudelaire, adapted by the composer.
The composer cites the following influences on this work: the music of Ravel, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.
