Cut and dried : small jazz ensemble
by Louise Denson (2007)
This is an Eb blues at a brisk tempo. The theme is meant to be played unison by the piano and front line instruments. Solos may be taken on the changes in the theme which are cyclical and fairly difficult to negotiate; or they can be taken on straight-ahead Eb blues.
Instrumentation: Trumpet or tenor sax or alto sax or trombone lead, piano, bass, drumkit.
Duration: 5 min.
Difficulty: Advanced — Difficult alternative changes for Eb blues.
