Three mandola duets, op. 282M / Eric Gross
Library shelf no. 785.78412/GRO 3 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
These duets have been written in response to a request to fill gaps in the Mandola repertoire.
They are intended to provide the performers with opportunities to present their technical skills and also to play as soloists on an instrument which is rarely featured thus.
The three movements may be performed as separate items if desired.
1) Michael and Friend contains joyful, even triumphal themes.
2) Mandole Plettrate is an emphatically rhythmic minuet.
3) Mandolas for Two uses quiet, pensive sul tasto phrases before reaching a lively finish.
