Work Overview

This piece was written for my mother, Kay Harrison, for her 50th birthday. Its slow and relaxed groove, influenced by the music of legendary African jazz musician Dollar Brand, reflects the way that she conducts life; evenly, gently and without malice.

Instrumentation: Trumpet in B flat, tenor saxophone, trombone, piano, bass, drum set.
