Work Overview
The 2009 Stations Project asked selected Australian composers to write a work related to the concepts of creation and birth. The Station assigned to me was 'The Naming: How do we name that which is born?' and the available instrumentation was set - soprano, vibraphone and string quartet. This process resulted in the piece Beginnings and it is really the result of some of my own thoughts and ponderings on the idea of naming.
