Score
Night cross(-ing), Op. 9 : 3 movements for solo piano / Calogero Panvino.
Library shelf no. 786.2/PAN 3 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Although the initial impetus for Night Cross(-ing) came from listening to a similarly titled work, Night Pieces (1971) - composed by Peter Sculthorpe, the principal aim of writing Night Cross(-ing) was to attempt the creation of a partial map of the night sky akin to the Australian Aborigines' notion of a songline; hence the reference to Crux Australis that appears in the title.
