Nachgebaute ruinen : for marimba / Simon Reade.
Library shelf no. 786.843/REA 1 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
Nachgebaute Ruinen was begun in June 2009 in Berlin, where I had been staying with my good friend and composer colleague, Simon Barber. The majority of the work on the piece, however, took place at Quaranup, near Albany in Western Australia while on holiday with my partner Claire McIlhenny in December 2009/January 2010. The title translates as 'artificial ruins', and is significant on a number of levels.
