Arangatta Gate is a fun and lively setting of a slightly surrealist poem by Val Chubb that has been interpreted as describing imaginary (and fairly benign) childhood fears and fantasies. It therefore has a fairly simple, naive style.
Instrumentation: Voice, harp (Celtic or concert).
Duration: 3 min.
Commission note: Composed for a performance of staged poetry by the Armidale Playhouse.
