Chinese and Arab cultures
This is the version for erhu of my viola solo Prayer, which had its origins in my perceptions of the myriad forms of religous devotion encountered in the Middle and Far East.
The registers, bowings and phrasing in the piece have been substantially changed to render the piece idiomatic for the erhu.
