These studies are musically conceived, with a very bluesy feel, and range from relatively easy through to technically demanding. The studies are based on some common blues chord progressions, and are intended to help familiarise the player with the blues style. They also demonstrate how various scale and arpeggio formations can fit with the chords. In no way are these meant to be definitive, rather they should be treated as suggestions as to the myriad possibilities open to the improviser in this style.
Instrumentation: E or B flat saxophone with backing CD.
Difficulty: Range from Grade 1 - Grade 8 AMEB
Contents note: 19 studies.
