2012 Screen Music Awards: winners
Lisa Gerrard, Burkhard Dallwitz, Roger Mason and Haydn Walker are among the winners of the 2012 Screen Music Awards. Held on Monday at Melbourne's BMW EDGE, the Screen Music Awards were staged jointly by Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC).
Feature Film Score of the Year was won by Lisa Gerrard for her music for the film Burning Man, while Burkhard Dallwitz received the award for Best Music for a Television Series or Serial for Underbelly Razor. Best Music for a Short Film Award went to Roger Mason for This Dog's Life. Haydn Walker was awarded as the winner of Best Music for an Advertisement for the Nutrilon: Hope campaign.
Also nominated for this year's Screen Music Awards were AMC-represented artists Leah Curtis (Best Original Song Composed for the Screen, for 'Animula Vagula' from Exitus Roma), Nerida Tyson-Chew (Feature Film Score of the Year, for Santa's Apprentice), Michael Yezerski (Feature Film Score of the Year, for Storm Surfers 3D, co-composed with Richard Tognetti), David Hirschfelder (Most Performed Screen Composer - Overseas), and Ric Formosa (Most Performed Screen Composer - Overseas, shared with Ricky Edwards).
