APRA Professsional Development Awards finalists have been announced. Five AMC-represented artists have made the Classical shortlist: Katy Abbott, Tristan Coelho, Amanda Cole, Julian Day and Nicole Murphy. Artists shortlisted in the Jazz category are Sam Anning, Steve Barry, Kristin Berardi, Andrea Keller and Daniel Susnjar. AMC-represented Amy Bastow made it to the shortlist in the Film and Television category, along with Angela Little, Claire Deak, Damien Lane and Pru Montin.

More than half of all PDA finalists this year are women. Together with the PDA shortlists, APRA has also made public the names of finalists for the Indigenous Music and Media Award from Smugglers of Light, a foundation set up in memory of Eli Westlake.

A full list of shortlisted composers and songwriters, as well as details about the judging panels and other information is available on the APRA AMCOS website. The Australian Music Centre is one of APRA's partner organisations for the Professional Development Awards.

The winners of APRA PDAs will be announced on 25 July 2017.
