ABC Classic FM Australian Music Highlights: June 2008
The month of June on ABC Classic FM features the music of contemporary Australian composers including ‘In Performance’ concert broadcasts with the world premiere of a work by Calvin Bowman along with works by Richard Meale, Peter Sculthorpe and Richard Mills.
‘New Music Up Late’ sets sail for Dublin with this year’s entry for the International Rostrum of Composers, featuring a stunning new studio chamber work by Damian Barbeler. Then return home for a taste of The NOW Now Festival of Spontaneous Music, held recently in the Blue Mountains, NSW.

Is blood exquisite? Is paint divine? Tonight we premiere Damian Barbeler’s Exquisite Blood, a studio chamber work which takes the piano trio to new places in pursuit of the inspired fusion of pictorial content and the physicality of paint in the intense crucifixion canvases of Titian.
