Australian music on ABC Classic FM in June 2013
The premieres of Paul Stanhope's Piccolo Concerto and Jo Truman's Dream Slash Nightmare get an airing in June, along with a second chance to hear the premiere of Andrew Ford's Blitz. ABC Classic FM's regular concert broadcasts also feature music by Peter Sculthorpe, John Carmichael, Graeme Koehne, Stephen Lalor, Joseph Tawadros, Gordon Kerry, Percy Grainger, Brett Dean, David Karagianis, Carl Vine, Gerard Brophy, Stuart Greenbaum, Colin Brumby, James Ledger and Wilfred Lehmann.
New Music Up Late this month includes concert recordings from Hobart's MONA FOMA with music by Chris Abrahams, Kate Moore, Brett Dean, David Chisholm, Elena Kats-Chernin, Damian Barbeler, Cor Fuhler and the Truman premiere, plus there's a whole program of music by Warren Burt.
New Waves podcasts a series of music from graphic scores courtesy of Perth's Decibel ensemble and a recent exhibition curated by composer Cat Hope. And Rewind gets up a head of steam with an increasing number of new works being added to the collection over the next few weeks.
