Product details

Brightest threads creates a glowing sonority by interlocking melodies in a canon, with the focus on ambiguous but tenderly expressive and direct, simple lines. As it progresses, energy levels slowly build and then subside to a passage of stillness, interrupted by rapid runs and a return to the opening melodies.

Duration: 9 min.

This work is a canon for three bass clarinets with an accompanying bass part. It may be performed with a multi-track audio recording prepared by the soloist. The style of the work was influenced by hearing Renaissance polyphony performances in Berlin.
