Work Overview

This song cycle was a creative collaboration with lyricist and mezzo soprano Desiree Regina. Her lyrics were written when she was at a cross roads in her life and needed to manifest a more meaningful relationship. The result of the song cycle was that indeed a new partner came into her life. The six songs in the cycle take the listener through the gamut of emotions from despair to elation. The music has strong melodies set with a rich harmonic palette. The cycle moves through a variety of styles portraying heartfelt emotion interspersed with foot tapping rhythms.
