Product details
There are five movements, each investigating the use of canon in an anti-war gesture (not 'cannon').
Beginning in a 14/4 cycle, each movement progresses i.e. 13/8, 12/8, 11/4, 10/8
Each canon is dealt with differently - movement 2 is exact at the unison together with a second canon accompaniment at the octave in diminuition; movement 4 is a palindromic canon in pitch and rhythm while movement 3 is in two parts, each at the inversion. Movements 1 & 5 are much more loose in the imitations.
However, these are just self imposed limitations in the search of expression.
