Bruce Crossman's trio Garden of fire (2017) for mezzo-soprano, percussion and piano has been selected for performance during the 2018 ISCM World Music Days in Beijing on 19-26 May 2018. The official program has been posted on the Beijing Modern Music Festival website. The work was submitted as part of the official selection by the Australian ISCM section.

Garden of Fire was composed for Anna Fraser (mezzo-soprano), Claire Edwardes (percussion) and Linda Yim (piano) who premiered the work with video art projections by Simon Killalea at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith, NSW, last October (performance is available on YouTube). The percussion part of the work features Chinese kulintang and Peking Opera gongs, and the text for the work comes from Tang Xianzu's The Peony Pavillion.
